Just got back from seeing Star Trek for the 16 again! Still awesome! Best Trek film in years, although it was lacking somewhat in the Klingon area. What they needed was someone like… well, like Worf. He would have kicked everyone’s ass and saved the day in no time!

Sunday! Chocolate peanut butter cookies and Star Trek, followed by more cakes and dvd’s. What more could I want?

The last of my Christmas presents came in the mail today! Now I just need to wrap them all and I can finish giving them out to people.

Forecast looks sunny and cloudy for the next few days, but I have a plan for the 25th if the worst comes to the worst. a plan and twenty odd tins of fake snow.

Ice Skating is even more fun than I remember it too.

The LHC was turned on yesterday and despite all the best efforts of the scary and doom laden forecasts, the world did not end. Always nice to be proven right by the continued existence of the world.

The new Microsoft advert is more than a little hypnotic. Watched it far too many times and I still can’t work out who it is actually aimed at or what they are trying to tell us. Apart from the fact Gates shops at a cheap shoe shop.

Who brings six year olds to a night tour and then gets surprised when they start crying and wanting to sleep, followed by offended and rude when other people ask them to control their own children? I think even I was getting a headache by the end of the tantrum.

Because I need something new to distract me and eat up free hours, I’ve decided to buy World of Warcraft. Just… not sure if I should actually play it since I have a very addictive personality.

In other news, my neighbour keeps baking me cakes. Anybody want some? My tables are starting to overflow with delicious treats.

Spend most of the weekend talking about NASA’s claim that their Phoenix lander found ‘compelling’ evidence of ice on Mars. On the face of it, it looks pretty compelling enough, white stuff that vanishes. Of course the moment one researcher says it has to ice, another chimes in with the fact it’s actually got to be salt.

This is the sort of thing that will keep us talking for years, long after it’s been proved one way or the other. Nothing we like better than that sort of pointless arugment. Actually had someone in the observatory last tour claiming the moon landing was faked. Fun twenty minutes discussing the possibility with him, never gets old but had to cut it short because everyone else looked bored. He was the sort of person Niamh would like, I’ll have to call her to protect me if he comes back like he ‘threatened’.
